    Livradois-Forez, a paradise for hikers
Auvergne is a region of middle height mountains, where you will appreciate the diversity of the landscapes on any season, and the richness of a wild and yet still untouched nature. When hiking the numerous marked paths of the Hautes Chaumes, through the “GR3” or the route of Santiago de Compostela, you will discover those typical mountain houses (“les jasserie”) where shepherds used to live during the summer season, with their typical roof of thatch (see picture). You will also walk past rare and protected flowers such as the Lilium martagon (also known as the Turk’s cap lily) (see picture below).

If you need further information about the local area, Michelle  will be happy to help you as well as provide you with documents, maps from the national geographic institute, and other helpful guides. In winter you will also be able to visit our mountains on skis or on snowshoes.
